Why Corporations Should Not Hire Military Veterans

Military veterans have many characteristics that show good leadership and courage, which is what companies should be aspiring to have in their employees. Instead, many corporations are purposely not hiring military veterans; resulting in thousands becoming homeless. Corporations are discriminating against our soldiers and the government is not endeavoring to help these soldiers either. Companies automatically assume that vets suffer from mental illnesses, are irrational and violent, and are uneducated and incompetent. Our government needs to establish more programs that will benefit our soldiers such as: creating shelter homes; providing them with therapists to help them with newly developed mental disorders; and allowing them to gain stability by giving them more job opportunities. There are numerous reasons as to why corporations are choosing to not hire military veterans. There are two sets of reasons: one being the reasons that corporations tell the public and, two being what the y truly mean but will not announce freely to the public. In the article, â€Å"5 Reasons Why Employers Are Not Hiring Vets† by Lisa Nagorny and Dan Pick, student veterans at Wharton’s MBA for Executives program, Nagorny and Pick discuss the interviews they conducted with 87 individuals and 69 companies. During the Blind Side, Michael Oher comes up from living on the `street to becoming an NFL football players. Throughout the film he is adopted by a new family who puts him down the right path in life. Although the movie The Blind Side is similar to Michael Ohers life, there are also many things that the movie changed about Michaels journey to add excitement to the movie. During the Blind Side there are many similarities that the movie got correct about Michael Ohers life. Spectrophotometry is a vary specific type of Spectroscopy which measures how much light is absorbed by measuring the intensity of the light beam that is not absorbed (transmittance).The word â€Å"Spectra† means the range of wavelength, â€Å"Photo† means light or photons and â€Å"Metry† is the measuring how much light a chemical substance absorbs which it calls the absorbance. But what we do is measure how much light of the original light beam gets through (transmittance). Spectrophotometer does not just shine all that light at the sample, it shines a vary specific wavelength of light and we can choose that normally by moving a slit in the way of the one wavelength of light or color that we would like to shine through the sample. That particular color of light will then shine through the sample, some of it will be absorbed and some of it will be transmitted.
